Steve Smith is the most underrated martial artist that I know. – Jesse R. Glover“I recomend Steve Smith’s Seminars” – Jesse R. Glover
Steve Smith has studied with me and he does teach Non-Classical Gung Fu but his primary teachers are Dave Harris and Fook Yeung. Dave Harris is one of the greatest unknown martial artists in the world. The things that he can do are fantastic and Steve from what I have seen was his top student who is also capable of doing some fantastic movements, and is also a first rate teacher. Of Dave’s art, Of all of the people who I have seen during my many years in martial arts Dave and Steve are at the top of the list in terms of what they do. I don’t regard Steve as my student he is more like a friend and fine martial artist who has strongly influenced my latest ideas about the roll of circles in martial arts as I have influenced his ideas about the roll of straight line movements in his martial arts. If you are interested in a unique approach to escapes from grappling holds/ take downs/and counters to standing attacks please plan to attend Steve Smith’s upcoming seminar in Switzerland. It will open your eyes to a new approach to martial arts that will add to what ever martial art you practice. A few years ago Steve and I did a seminar in Geneva and people were blown away by what he did. Don’t miss this opportunity to train with a unique martial teacher who can open you up to a new way of applying martial arts skills. Steve has also trained with Fook Yeung who I met through Bruce in 1959. I used to see Fook several times a week in Seattle’s Chinatown and generally stopped and chat with him. When I first met Fook he was teaching at the Chinese Youth club in Seattle where he showed me some techniques from the Southern Preying Mantis and some other styles. He also taught Bruce some techniques from other styles. On more than one occasion I saw him teach things to Bruce. Fook wasn’t Bruce’s primary teacher but he did show Bruce some things that he didn’t know. In addition to training with Dave Harris for several years Steve trained for several years with Fook Yeung. I interviewed Fook Yeung a few years ago after he closed his hands and I asked him if he left his system to Steve and he told me that he had. Jesse Glover
