Little Dojo Member / Friend Profile Dr. Tom Seal
By the little dojo | March 16, 2007
This Month’s Member Profile is Dr. Tom Seal of Kirkland, Washington. Tom is an accomplished Dentist who practices not just as a profession, it is his hobby. I have known Tom for over a decade, he continually impresses me with his child like interest in everything. For example he became interested in the natural world and joined a program with Kamana for one year spent one hour outdoors in the same spot recording his observations and insights. Tom Seal was/is a private and closed door student to Fook Yueng, Jesse Glover, Ed Hart, David Harris, Sid Woodcock, and many experts in other areas. Tom Seal was the youngest person at the time to ever get a black belt under Gogan “the Cat” Yamaguchi, and continues his search exemplifying the principle of Shoshin, Beginners Mind.
Tom is an excellent Dentist who has helped all of his teachers with their Dental needs for years and as his training in Martial Arts would suggest he stays on the cutting edge in that field as well.
Tom is a Master Falconer. The first time I met him he had a Harris Hawk on his arm (Tommy Hawk) and was flying it off the balcony of his home overlooking the Puget Sound.
Dr. Seal thanks for everything.

Tom is awesome. When I was studying with Harris Sensei, Tom provided many insights to techniqies and cool stories about MA and mystical things. Its one of the things I miss most about the class.

Tom has been such a great friend and mentor to me.
Beneath his bullshit is endless wisdom and vice versa. He was the person who painstakingly shared his insights and experiences so I could even have a chance to understand what Dave was teaching.
He also facillatated my meeting Sid, Jesse Glover and many other amazing people.Damnit, the guy basically changed my life! He has always spoke with the highest regard for Steve and his abilities and I take that very seriously because Tom is pretty darn good.
Thanks for everything, my friend. Mahalo.
