Congratulations Kalem on Your Win, Mixed Martial Arts
By the little dojo | March 25, 2007
Congratulations to Kalem Klinefelter! Kalem got a win by way of Triangle Choke in the second round at the MMA fight held at Walla Walla’s Dietrich Dome. He was matched with Chad from Wenatchee who is an excellent grappler with some very good stand up skills. It was a great match, Kalem took some heavy right hands but fought through it, maintaining his composure. Kalem showed depth in the fight even when matched with someone with 5 times more stand up experience, he adjusted his game and engineered a win. He said after the match, “I am tired in a way I have never felt before”, he dug deep and showed his character. Kalem represented The Little Dojo and Premier Martial Arts. Steve Smith and Mr. O assisted Kalem with Coaching for around 2-3 months, and Kalem is a voratious student of the craft using books, online sources, and work outs at Premier Martial Arts. Kalem trained in Non Classical Gung Fu, Thai Boxing Technique, and Ju Jitsu. Good Stuff!
There were fighters from Idaho, Spokane, Moses Lake, Wenatchee, Pendelton, Yakima, White Wolf, Walla Walla, Dayton, Waitsburg and probably some places I have missed.
Blue Mountain Martial Arts from Pendelton had 5 or 6 fighters and were coached by Justin Evans 541-310-7091. Rene Erm had 6 fighters and has announced his new fight club Dragons Den. Ryan Calhoon was in the stands observing the fights and came by to offer his support and assistance.
I appreciated the audience by in large who enjoyed the matches and maintained a good order, the fighters who acted as gentlemen, and the coaches who were open to talk and share ideas. There was a contingent of Walla Walla Police Officers there as security and the Walla Walla EMTs were there to offer the fighters medical support if needed. One of the Fighters from Idaho suffered a twisted knee and was glad they were there.
Premier Martial Arts offers both individual coaching and group classes for both men and women interested in training in Mixed Martial Arts for the ring/cage or as a method of conditioning. The methods used are effective and thorough drawing from the old and the new cutting edge methods of training and conditioning. Interested? Call 509-527-3385 and leave a message for Steve Smith or Mr. O.

I live in Seattle but am interested in training with you. Do you accept students who can only train with you a few weeks out of the year? I am interested in Fook Yeung and NCWC.

Hi Jon, We do accept members who can only train a few weeks out of the year. People come to Walla Walla and train for a day or a week, go home and practice with tapes and notes and come back in a few months to train again. They are very successful and improving every time I see them. Feel free to email me stevesmith@thelittledojo.com or call the Premier Martial Arts to book your visit, 509-527-3385.
